Village of Michiana
Special Council Meeting
February 28, 2008
The regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Michiana was called to order at 10:04 a.m. (EST) by President Pro-Tem Sheila Stein.
Present were John Llewellyn, Sheila Stein, and Patricia Carpenter.
New Business:
The bids for the Lake Shore Drive water main project were reviewed; and it is the Water Authority’s formal recommendation that the council award the bid to Southwest Transport.
Motion by J. Llewellyn and seconded by P. Carpenter to accept the bid from Southwest Transport in the amount of $143,177.60 for the installation of new water main by open-cut construction on Lake Shore Drive along Stops 38, 39, and 40 as described by the map and itemized project details. Motion carried, 3-0 on roll call vote.
The council addressed several project questions posed by Michael Wolf of 3916 Ponchartrain. Wolf commented to the council that the best investment was in putting pipes in the ground.
There being no further business, S. Stein adjourned the meeting at 10:28 a.m. EST.
